-Robert Pietsch in top form-

After his win at the first run of the Southern German nationals in Nuremberg and his podium spot at last month's Swiss Grandprix, Robert Pietsch was once again in top form winning the second Southern German national race in Turkheim.

He did a great job in the qualification runs and achived both: Pole position and a new track record!Once again Robert showed an outstanding performance by leading his final without any complications. Let's just say he did what he does best - winning races... Eric Dankel placed 2nd and Philip Eberle 3rd.

Thomas Werner, another Shepherd test driver, started in class 2 and made that weekend a perfect event for our new VELOX. He placed 2nd after the qualification run and clearly won his final with 4 laps lead.

We congratulate both drivers on these great results! Keep it up!

Great success at the EFRA Grandprix in Lostallo
Tuesday, 04 December 2007

The EFRA Grandprix and the warm-up race for this year's European Championship in July took place on April 27th to 29th in Lostallo, Switzerland.

Top drivers from all over Europe participated in this important internationl race. Quite many drivers arrived yet on thursday to practice and to get ready for the race. Robert Pietsch prooved impressively the high potential of the new Shepherd VELOX by driving great lap times all through the day. The rest of the drivers arrived on friday and everybody practiced as much as possible...Robert kept driving very good lap times and was perfectly prepared for Saturdays' qualifying.

Robert placed 4th after the 4th qualification run and would have been one of the direct qualifiers for the finals but unfortunately the 5th and last qualification run was -as a result of the lowering air temperature- the fastest and with his engine getting lean and his glow-plug failing, he was forced to give up and in the end "only" placed 6th. With this position he was to start from the first position in the semifinals B.

The finals took place on Sunday.
Robert won his semifinal without any problems.
In the finals he started from 5th place and even though he had a small accident with one of the other competitors and lost half a round, he managed to speed up and regained his starting-position. Unfortunately his engine stopped two times dircetly after the pit stops and he lost again some seconds...but as Robert never gives up he kept fighting and showed once more a great performance by placing 3rd (only 2 sec behind the 2nd). Congratulations!!!

This was a great success for Velox' first international race and it won't be the last...
